The 2019 Global Leaders in Consulting: Mark Livingston

"We've re-orienteered our business significantly since I've joined Infosys Consulting. First we've added top industry talent to our teams at all levels of the organization, including 20 partners from around the world to spearhead our growth engine," he says. "Second, we've relaunched our business into a new global operating model, with one integrated set of practice around the world. My marketing team has launched an amazing digital thought-leadership platform to position our partners as innovative experts in the market."

Finally, he says the firm has rolled out a series of new KPIs and incentives to encourage better collaboration and selling across all parts of the business. "In totality, these programs have anchored a new strategy that is helping us attract and retain more talent and build a stronger workforce culture that is inspiring great thinking every day," he says.

Livingston says impacting the financial value of a company is what motivates him to excel, such as taking the strategy and vision and to be able to see it through and realize the promised results and ROI. "I love betting on myself!  Having a grand plan and perhaps a daunting task—and putting the right pieces in place to help it come together in terms of measurable business performance—is what I love most," he says. 

As far as being recognized as a Global Leader in Consulting, Livingston says he is extremely honored to be recognized for his 30-plus years of executive leadership experience that all started at Touché Ross/Deloitte in 1985.  

"I've been fortunate to have touched many people's careers directly, to open doors for many others, and to run some of the most innovative client projects in our industry," he says. "To me, this award is not just about me, but about the many great people that have worked with me during my career." 

Finally, Infosys Consulting is poised for many more great things in the months ahead, he says. "As we build our next-generation firm, it's also a recognition of the 3,000-plus people that do great work here every day for our clients."  

Q&A: What accomplishments are you most proud of over the course of your entire career?

"I am most proud of the many people's careers I've influenced and all the partners I made at A.T. Kearney, Cognizant and now Infosys Consulting.  I am extremely proud to have been part of the team that created the IT strategy practice at A.T. Kearney, which became one of our biggest globally. I look back very fondly on being sent to Brazil to run Kearney's Latin America business and prepare for our pending MBO from EDS."
