Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?

Sanders: The exceptional people we hire into the firm and clients we're lucky enough to work with. We have been able to hire highly talented associates, expand the depth of our client relationships and leverage that formula to create an atmosphere of teamwork and partnership. Summus Group genuinely values our clients and how they define success; we strive to exceed expectations on every engagement.

Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?

Sanders:  2019 was another great year for us and 2020 looks even better. We have continued to expand both our consulting workforce as well as our internal teams to help as we scale the business. We've added several new clients this year, and have just begun to tap into their challenges… and are quite optimistic about the early partnerships we've built with them. We continue to focus on expanding our footprint and reach with ongoing expansion into Atlanta and recently Austin markets.

Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2020? Where do you see the most opportunities?

Sanders: 2020 is looking to be an expansion year across new clients and markets, however we expect to remain true to our focus on Financial Services and FinTech industries. We've already been asked to lead major work into 2020 (and beyond) in a few areas that are of particular interest to our firm—M&A work and Business Transformation across both operational and digital footprints.

Consulting: What would you say are your firm's biggest challenges in 2020?

Sanders: Ensuring we continue the path we've blazed so far – which is a focus on working with top clients and finding and going all in on top talent. We want to maintain our culture and core values; they are at the center of everything we do. We never want to sacrifice our center for faster growth, we always want to remain true to ourselves on this wonderful journey of growing a company that we believe works hard, ethically and morally for our teammates and clients.

Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?

Sanders: It is an incredible honor to be recognized for the 3rd consecutive year. It is a testament to the hard work of everyone at Summus Group. Our hope is that potential future teammates and clients see this and think of Summus Group when looking for their next partnership.
