REVENUE GROWTH: 1,808%

HQ: Suwanee, Ga.

Avelead creates innovative technology solutions that automate and improve revenue cycles in healthcare. "With our software and solutions, we develop focused plans, and provide tools to deliver results," says Jawad Shaikh, Executive Director of Avelead. "Our proprietary resources ensure high quality, metric-based implementations." Shaikh sat down with Consulting to discuss the firm's financial performance, growth rate, overall outlook and its place among the profession's Fastest Growing Firms.

Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?

Shaikh: We believe that experience is the main contributor to Avelead's growth. Avelead understands that technology should never be a "one size fits all". With the proper tools and methodology, we evaluate each client's needs and take a consultative approach to set them up for financial and organizational success.

Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?

Shaikh: 2019 was a great year for Avelead in terms of growth and technology. While doubling in employees and revenue, we additionally released REViD, our newest healthcare software solution that keeps the end user in mind. REViD, as part of our MBAT Plaform, ensures there are no billing gaps, making charge reconciliation more efficient for healthcare facilities and leaving little room for human error.

Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2020? Where do you see the most opportunities?

Shaikh: Our 2020 outlook is focused on advancement in the financial and revenue cycle area. Avelead has already taken strides to revolutionize processes in healthcare by looking at the big picture: before automation of technology can take place, current performance needs to be evaluated and brought up to speed. We are big believers in the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) approach and see this as an opportunity in the health of clinically driven revenue cycles.

Consulting: What would you say are your firm's biggest challenges in 2020?

Shaikh: With the growth and demand in the financial and revenue cycle area, more and more hospitals are finding an interest in managing revenue neutrality through our software implementations. Keeping up with the demand and scalability will be our biggest challenge next year.

Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?

Shaikh: Being named as one of Consulting magazine's Fastest Growing Firms gives us the idea that we are headed in the right direction. Avelead's primary goal is to listen and expand on our clients' needs while building on them to provide solutions. We hope to continue implementing our solutions to more hospital acute and ambulatory health systems across the nation to transition them into clinically driven revenue cycles.
