Six years as one of the Best Firms to Work For is a pretty impressive track record, for sure. And Joseph Tarantino, President & CEO of Protiviti knows that's no small feat. He says the firm operates every day on the basis that it brings the best people to the table for clients because the firm's employees are not only experts in their fields but engaged and committed to the firm and its values.

"Being recognized as one of the Best Firms to Work For validates our belief that Protiviti really does stand out among its peers as an exceptional workplace to build a career," Tarantino says. "This helps us attract a high caliber workforce from which our clients benefit. Our people take great pride in this recognition, and many of them refer other professionals to apply to work here."

It's no surprise then that Tarantino would classify morale as very high, partly because on a financial level Protiviti continues to see sustained and solid growth. Perhaps more importantly, he says, is to continue to develop programs and initiatives that truly reflect the things employees care about, from increased benefits for new parents to employee networking groups to multiple opportunities for giving back to local communities. "Our continuing evolution in this regard is very much based on employee feedback and people see and appreciate our responsiveness to their needs," he says.

And there's other news on the horizon, Tarantino says. As part of the firm's commitment to innovation, Protiviti recently opened Protiviti iNN innovation sites in New York, Chicago and London, to serve as in-house incubators and accelerators of ideas and next generation-solutions for clients and the firm. "We have more innovation sites planned, and we look forward to implementing the new ideas and methodologies developed at these sites to the benefit of our clients as well as our firm," he says. "We will also continue to assist our clients with the pressing business issues of the day, including digital transformation, cyber risk quantification, cloud security and process mining and data management, to name just a few."

To that end, Tarantino says he sees exciting opportunities for clients in the areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotic process automation, cloud and operational resilience. "We believe that employing new technologies and innovative approaches will create dramatic shifts in performance, business development and shareholder value over the next two years. We look forward to helping our clients tackle these challenges with confidence," he says.

What's unique about your firm?

Tarantino: We have three overall company values—innovation, inclusion and integrity. This brevity allows us to really focus on those values in everything we do. We go above and beyond every day advising our clients and using the latest technologies and methodologies to find genuinely innovative solutions for them because we know that these are key to their success in a competitive market. We work in a highly collaborative way that encourages our diverse workforce to offer creative solutions, and we frequently bring in Protiviti colleagues from our other consulting practices so our clients can benefit from new perspectives, expertise and insights. We're committed to doing the right thing, whether it's in dealing with clients, how we treat each other as colleagues, the way we steward our company or the contributions we make to the communities in which we live and work globally.
