Dallas-based Pariveda Solutions is back on the Best Firms to Work For list for the fourth consecutive year—one spot higher than the firm was in 2018.
Pariveda's Founder and CEO Bruce Ballengee says it's an honor to be named a Best Firm and as Pariveda continues to grow, "this award confirms that we continue to stay true to our core values and mission to grow people towards their highest potential," he says. "Because our people are engaged, they are better able to co-create solutions with our clients to their ambiguous problems. Our people are self-motivated and self-guided to seek out and design creative solutions using holistic thinking leveraging leading-edge business, technology and product ideas."
And the growth of the firm certainly shows no signs of slowing down. "We are having another record-breaking year-over-year performance as a firm this year," he says. "We have growth opportunities for all our employees in all of our markets."
One of Ballengee's top priorities over the next year is to continue to expand into more cities, including international ones, as the firm invests in building greater market share in each of the cities where it already has offices.
"Opening Toronto in 2019 is a significant milestone for Pariveda as a sustainable enterprise," Ballengee says. "Toronto is a wonderful step in our international journey to become a global brand. There's no other city outside the U.S. with the same proximity in culture, business practices, government and geography relative to Pariveda. Toronto will be a wonderful learning opportunity for Pariveda to master nurturing offices in other great cities around the world."
Since Pariveda's inception, its unique business model is a sustainable alternative to conventional professional services—strive to be a different kind of firm, unwavering in its commitment to growing the individual towards their highest potential, Ballengee says.
"Pariveda is an employee-owned company designed with an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. It provides our employees with an ownership interest in the company," he says. "There are no sales incentives, salary negotiations, or outcome-based compensation."
Ballengee says Pariveda is well ahead of most organizations with respect to pay equity having been architected from the beginning with a transparent salary structure, including complete parity for employees at a given level and the absence of any discretionary pay. Performance assessments and promotion decisions always include 360-degree feedback to minimize bias.
On the survey, the firm excelled in the areas of Compensation & Benefits and Career Development. Why do you think that is?
Ballengee: Career Development is foundational to our firm's mission. It's why people join Pariveda and why they stay. As Pariveda grows, we continue to live our mission to grow every individual to their highest potential. Human development should be available to everyone. We are phenomenally successful by embracing a distinct business model centered on talent development, lifetime relationships and transformation. In regard to Compensation & Benefits, our philosophy is and has always been based in part around providing the most competitive total compensation package possible, which allows us to attract and retain the most valuable employees in their fields.
