It's four years and counting for Reston, Va.-based Collaborative Solutions as the firm is back in the No. 2 spot for the second year in a row.
"Being a Best Firm to Work For these last few years has proven to be significantly impactful for Collaborative Solutions," says Carroll Ross, CEO of Collaborative Solutions. "This award is highly regarded by the industry, so having a place on the list is encouraging to our current customers and positions us well in the Workday ecosystem. Being known as a Best Firm to Work For also shows us that we are continuing to progress forward as Collaborative matures and grows."
Ross says morale at Collaborative remains high, and he likes to think that's mostly due to living out the company values daily. Those values were refreshed over the last year and are a product of introspection, deliberation, and consensus amongst employees, Ross says. They are an accurate reflection of how the company functions and the DNA of the workforce. "Our dedication to staying true to these values naturally creates an environment that enables employees' outlooks and attitudes to remain high," Ross says.
One thing that's clearly helped lift that morale, Ross says, is that the firm has experienced significant growth over the last year with increasing business opportunities and its global expansion into the Asia-Pacific region through acquiring the Australia-based Theory of Mind Pty Ltd. at the end of 2018.
"As our people are always our top priority, maintaining our special and unique familial culture through this growth is a main driver in all business and company decisions," he says. "Also, as we are a primarily remote workforce, it is essential that we use creative methods to make all employees feel included and part of the family, which is why we have dedicated programs and tools in place to bring people together."
Another avenue to achieve high performance is the firm's investment in employee development. Collaborative currently offers a vast range of resources and trainings available to employees, from a multi-week Associate training program for new college graduates to its Leadership Academy. "We are committed to building upon these programs and expanding offerings in the next 12 months and beyond to create more opportunities for employees to discover and nurture their desired career path," Ross says.
And when Ross looks at the future of the firm, he says he's very optimistic. "This ever-evolving ecosystem provides ample opportunities that bring excitement and can be leveraged to build upon our success," he says. "At Collaborative, we will continue to capitalize on our global investments, as we are seeing a lot of momentum in global opportunities and multinational companies."
What's unique about your firm?
Ross: Collaborative is special for many different reasons, but at the core of what makes us unique is our people. From the start, we have been mindful in growing the firm not only with the best talent, but also with the right people, who are just as excited to join our familial culture as they are to be a part of our talented workforce. When it comes to our employees, we respect and value individuals for their diverse backgrounds, experiences, styles, approaches, and ideas, and aim to support them through their professional development to share in our collective success. It is because of our people that Collaborative continues to be a top workplace.
