Since CapTech's 2012 debut on the Best Firms to Work For list, Steve Holdych, Co-CEO, says the firm has experienced significant growth in its client, geographic, and consultant reach. "Everyone at the firm continues to have the opportunity to grow their talents, deliver great client work, and contribute to the overall success of the company, Holdych says. "Even with the pace of our growth, we remain focused on encouraging our consultants to maintain and build upon our enthusiasm for collaboration, both with one another internally as well as externally when serving our clients."
Because of that effort, he says, the firm enjoys a congenial environment where the formation of long-term relationships with one another and clients is actively supported.
"At CapTech, every employee is respected for their unique talents, ideas, and passions, and we truly are a company that recognizes the importance of establishing both a fun and enjoyable work environment as well as an environment that allows for flexibility and balance in our employees' lives," Holdych says. "Trust established through a mutual caring and the feeding of authentic relationships results in an ongoing positive vibe in our offices."
That vibe is backed up by the firm's bedrock philosophy to do the right thing for clients and consultants—resulting in the firm's long-term mission to "be the best firm to work with and work for."
"Pursuing CapTech's mission requires most initiatives to relentlessly focus on how we can serve our consultants and clients more effectively," he says. "Leadership routinely examines existing processes to determine if there are roadblocks or concerns that could impact our consultants' ability to serve our clients in the most innovative and efficient way possible. By focusing our internal leadership time to serve our consultants, we are equipping our consultants with the skills and enthusiasm to deliver consistent results for our clients."
To that end, Holdych says CapTech continues to enjoy steady, growing demand within its existing and new clients. This demand growth has led to the establishment of several offices over the past couple of years to serve its national base of clients. Consulting growth requires the ongoing recruitment, building, and retention of consultants who have both the consulting ability and the shared core values of the firm. "Our focus remains on attracting and integrating consultants who fit our model, while building out a relationship and process framework that is scalable across geographic regions in order to reinforce our 'One CapTech' vision for the firm," he says. "This has served as our primary focus throughout our history, and we continue to build our consultants for long-term, successful outcomes with clients."
What impact do you think being one of the Best Firms to Work For has on the firm?
Holdych: We appreciate the continued recognition as one of the Best Firms to Work For. Since our founding, our mantra has been to "Be the best firm to work for and to work with." Each year, we use the Best Firms process and outcome to assess if we are living up to the promise. For the firm, the results serve as a validation that we consistently live by our core values while creating an environment to grow, thrive, and deliver world-class solutions. It is our consultants that make this recognition possible—their hard work and commitment to make CapTech a uniquely capable firm is the footing that our results rest on.
