Ankura Consulting Group
Excellence in Influence
Roger Carlile says he is a competitive person with a results-driven, team-first orientation. As a result, he has always sought to work with the most talented colleagues in a collaborative manner to facilitate the creation of innovation and value for clients and colleagues.
"The biggest factor to my success has been working with skilled, intelligent people in challenging situations across a broad range of client and business management issues that have provided me with the opportunity to learn new skills and develop relationships, which add value over time."
Carlile is the CEO at Washington DC-based Ankura and has over 30 years of professional services experience, including more than 20 years in senior leadership positions for both publicly owned and private-partnership businesses. He founded Ankura in November 2014 with the vision of providing senior-level counsel to its clients based on an understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by them.
As a result, Ankura offers a wide range of expert witness, turnaround and restructuring, corporate investigation, disputes/litigation support, forensic accounting, geopolitical risk assessment, transaction advisory, valuation, visual communications, and business advisory services.
"I am most proud of Ankura's sustained focus on client service and the professional development of our colleagues, which supported by our highly-collaborative culture, drives results and innovation," he says. "Our strong commitment to these defining elements has facilitated the firm's growth, establishing Ankura as a global consulting firm with nearly 1,500 employees operating in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions of the world."
Meanwhile, Carlile is also proud of having sustained long-term relationships with colleagues and clients that provided the opportunity for Ankura to become a reality, he says. "At each step in my career, I have learned from those with whom I have worked alongside, and I have been able to maintain many of those relationships to gain continued value for our clients and colleagues."
Working in a consulting firm provides the greatest opportunity to learn, he says. "We work on interesting, ever-changing and complex client matters which grow our knowledge and expertise," Carlile says. "Second, we work with colleagues who are among the smartest, most goal-oriented people in our markets. The combination is unequaled in any other profession in my opinion."
Q&A: What does being recognized as a Global Leader in Consulting mean to you? Your firm? Your clients?
Carlile: This is clearly an award received by me but earned through the efforts of many people at Ankura Consulting Group. As a result, it means a great deal to our firm, our employees, our clients and me as it is a recognition of the incredible success our firm has experienced over the last four years. It is a mile post in Ankura's journey to sustained development and success.
