We did it for a few reasons but the biggest one is this—consulting is a global business. Firms are global; business is global; clients are global. And Consulting magazine is global. The Global Leaders in Consulting are not only making a huge impact in the profession, but that impact can be felt far and wide—in fact, it can be felt worldwide.
And like most of our recognition events the market responded. The inaugural event last December was such a success that we decided to up the ante in 2018. With the number of nominations doubled, we added five additional recipients and last month, we came together in London to recognize 25 award winners. The Global Leaders display outstanding leadership qualities and exert extraordinary influence in their firms, for their clients and over the entire consulting profession.
The winners, their stories and photos from the gala dinner, can be found in a special 40-page section beginning on Page 14.

Meanwhile, this is our first issue of the year and we begin it the way we always do—with the results of our Executive Outlook survey. This is the first time in quite a while we've seen executives begin to pump the brakes on their firms' growth and revenue expectations. In fairness, the forecasts we've seen the last few years as a result of the survey were probably unsustainable—98 percent of executives expecting revenue growth had only one way to go, after all.
Are we sounding an alarm? No, not at all; no one is panicking and pipelines remain robust but it's worth noting that consulting executives are starting to realize that the good times won't last forever. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
