Revenue Growth: 275%
HQ: Chicago
Prime TSR is a technology modernization consultancy working with mid and large-size enterprises in three primary areas: Application Development & Integration, Data Platforms & Analytics and Infrastructure & Operations. Co-founders Eugene Khazin and Josh Davidson sat down with Consulting to discuss the firm's financial performance.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?
Khazin: After gaining credibility and solid footing as a technology "SWAT Team," we have successfully advanced our vision to become the strategic, technology modernization partner that our clients count on to create insightful, long-term technology solutions to their most pressing challenges. Unlike many larger agencies that have different teams handling sales, strategy, delivery and maintenance, with Prime TSR we are one team. Rather than working with a team where the experience is only "at the top," our clients gain the expertise of senior level professionals averaging 10+ years of experience at every level.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Davidson: Prime TSR has experienced more than 50 percent annual year-over-year growth and we have expanded our client base to include large enterprises and Fortune 1000 organizations spanning a broad range of industries such as healthcare, insurance, professional services, and retail. In the past five years, we have also expended our offerings and have grown from two to more than 40 consultants in Chicago. Our growth strategy has put us on track to double in size this year and become a major player in the IT consulting arena.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2019?
Khazin: There has been a significant increase in awareness and acceptance within companies and industries that initially only saw Cloud as a replacement for servers. For most brick and mortar companies, Cloud technology is only now becoming a reality. We are seizing this opportunity to demonstrate how Cloud and other new technologies can impact their software systems, data warehouses, application hosting environments and other critical aspects of their business.
Consulting: What would you say are your firm's biggest challenges?
Davidson: In the past, our primary (or only) client within an organization was the CIO, as our work was narrowly viewed as "IT solutions." Today technology modernization has shifted from the back office to the core of the business—encompassing the offices of the CFO, CMO, operations and other areas. With this larger, more diverse audience, our biggest challenge often comes in the adoption phase of an engagement.
Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?
Khazin: Being named as one of the Fastest Growing Firms is an honor and a tremendous validation that our expansion strategy is not only working for our business, but is also providing opportunities for long-term partnerships with our clients as our capabilities expand. Our clients not only see dramatic improvements in their business processes, but also appreciate our ability and willingness to identify and apply existing technology to address their business challenges.
