Diane Borska

Fuld + Company

Prinicipal, Diversified Practice

Diane Borska began her career as a staff engineer working for an EPC firm in the nuclear power industry. Needless to say, that's not the typical career path and progression to one of the 2017 Global Leaders in Consulting.

"I am proud to have made the transition from a very technical and focused profession—with little growth opportunity—to being a leader in my firm focused on a broader business consulting endeavour," she says.

Today, Borska is a Principal and Global Head of Fuld + Company's Diversified Practice where she oversees client relationships and directing engagements in the industrial, consumer goods, and technology sectors.

She brings over 20 years of experience as a strategy consultant for a broad range of leading industrial and technology companies. Over the years, Diane has led many engagements advising Fortune 500 clients on technology developments, market entry and opportunity, mergers and acquisitions, and diversification strategies.

Borska has completed numerous assignments involving M2M technology deployment for security, situational awareness, asset management, supply chain and work management applications. She has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.

Ask her what achievements she's most proud of over the last 12 months and she'll list three specific ones: Achieving significant top line growth, while growing margins; Making some very good hires who contributed top line and fresh ideas and approaches; and, nurturing the development of junior staff to see some real growth and development contributing to practice success.

"I love the challenge associated with growing our business. I always feel like we can do more, and do better," Borska says. "I love to see our offering grow in sophistication and value."

And Borska credits much of that success to "good mentors and collaborators and lots of on-the-job training opportunities," she says.

As far as being recognized as a Global Leader in Consulting, Borska says she's never been recognized for any accomplishment by any professional peers. "It's unexpected and very flattering," she says. "My colleagues have been very complimentary and excited about this recognition. Clients have been interested and pleased, as well."

Q&A: What do you enjoy most about your work and the consulting profession?

Borska: "The utter unpredictability of it all. There are always new clients, new problems, new approaches and new solutions."
