Part of Consulting magazine's mission statement is to highlight the very best in the consulting profession. We do that in many ways, but particularly through our series of individual recognition awards and dinners, including the Rising Stars of the Profession, The Top 25 Consultants and The Women Leaders in Consulting, among others. And now, for the first time ever, we're honoring The Global Leaders in Consulting.

Consulting is a global business. Firms are global; business is global; clients are global. And Consulting magazine is global. That's why Consulting launched this brand new award. The Global Leaders in Consulting are not only making a huge impact in the profession, but that impact can be felt far and wide—in fact, it can actually be worldwide.

Last month we gathered in London to recognize the 20 recipients of this new international award who display outstanding leadership qualities and exert extraordinary influence in their firms, for their clients and over the entire consulting profession.

Their stories, and photos from the gala, can be found in a special 32-page section beginning on Page 16.

Meanwhile, this is our first issue of the year and we begin it the way we always do—with the results of our Executive Outlook survey. And those numbers look good; really good. While the economy hums along, consulting  firms are doing their very best to take full advantage of the momentum while the going—and growing—remains strong. Let the good times roll would seem to be the mantra for 2018.

Continued positive economic momentum combined with a massive corporate tax cut coming leads to an upbeat and bullish forecast among the 130-plus consulting executives who completed the survey. Sprinkle in a dash of healthcare upheaval and increased infrastructure spending on the horizon, and the results speak for themselves.
