Bill Sanders, Founder and Managing Director, sat down with Consulting to discuss his firm's revenue growth and overall financial performance.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?
Sanders: We are fortunate to have exceptionally talented people and premier clients; a combination that creates an atmosphere of teamwork and partnership. Most of our associates have worked in the consulting and financial services industries. It is this duality of background that helps us relate to our clients on a much closer level and view ourselves as partners and extensions of our clients. Pairing top talent that has this mindset with clients we admire and trust has helped Summus Group achieve amazing growth.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Sanders: We moved into our new office space, which has helped further inspire creativity and collaboration. We have also put an intense focus on ensuring we have the right foundation in place to sustain our expected future growth and be able to better respond to our clients' needs. We have continued to expand the diversity of experience on our consulting and leadership teams this year which allows expansion into different services and industries.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2018? Where do you see the most opportunities?
Sanders: 2018 looks to be another great year for Summus Group. We will complement our existing focus in capital markets, product development, payments, risk/fraud/compliance and fintech, with new service offerings while expanding into new markets and verticals.
Consulting: What would you say are your firm's biggest challenges in 2018?
Sanders: Pacing our growth and ensuring we continue to follow our selective process to find elite associates. We pride ourselves on bringing our clients high value consultants and never taking on work where we might not be the best fit. We want to have sustained growth which will allow our team to continue to receive honors like this for years to come. Our goal is to grow responsibly while maintaining our core vision for the company.
Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?
Sanders: It is such a tremendous and humbling honor to be one of the fastest growing consulting firms in the country. This award is especially significant in that it is focused on our industry. To be recognized amongst our peers is something our team is extremely proud of; our hope is that potential future teammates and clients see this and think of Summus Group when looking for their next partnership.
