Consulting magazine is always on the lookout for greatness. Two years ago, we launched a new award—Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms. The idea was to find a way to recognize the firms that are disrupting the industry… from the bottom up. We always knew they were out there and have covered them anecdotally for years, but we decided it was time to focus squarely on their revenue to compile a ranking of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms.
With a baseline growth rate of 20 percent as qualifying metric, last year 61 consultancies were recognized as the Fastest Growing Firms. This year, applying that same qualifying metric, 75 firms make the final list.
These Fastest Growing Firms are a big deal. For that reason, we've devoted almost this entire November issue to it—compiling a 90-page section to cover it all. These firms are the future, and they deserve to be recognized. For this award recognition, we asked for revenue over a three-year period. To participate, firms needed to have at least $500,000 in revenue by Dec. 31 2013. The No. 1 ranked firm—Bellevue, Wash.-based BluePrint Consulting Services—grew at an astounding 2,538 percent. BluePrint beat out OnPrem Solutions Partners, which grew at 1,412 percent. The winning firms averaged 248 percent growth. Simply stunning. How much did your firm grow over the last three years? And in typical Consulting magazine fashion, earlier this month we gathered the Fastest Growing Firms together at a gala dinner celebration in New York—an evening to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of these firms. We wanted the opportunity to shine a light on these firms, their results and their impact, as well as gather them all in one place to network and talk about their strategies for success. Photos and coverage of that evening can be found beginning on Page 92.
