OK, I admit it: there's a very misleading headline on this Editor's Note. As provocative as it may be, the two subjects aren't really related at all, other than they are both covered in this issue of Consulting. Throw an ampersand in between them and you've got the stuff of the National Enquirer right there. (And, who knows, someday our Top 25 Consultants just may be made up exclusively of robots.) But someday is not today.

When it comes to Consulting magazine's editorial goals—one of which is to be an advocate for the profession by shining a light on the very best it has to offer—the May issue never disappoints. It's our chance to highlight some of the best stuff happening in consulting right now by people at the top of their game. The Top 25 Consultants are an elite class. With some 400 nominations coming in, it's certainly not easy to be selected as a recipient. This is select company, and we're thrilled to be able to bring you their stories, their efforts and their accomplishments in a special, 38-page section in this issue. You'll be inspired, for sure.

And one common thread that runs through each of their stories is humility. No one takes credit for the success. Read the articles: I challenge you to find one that doesn't mention "team" multiple times as to how they ended up here, in this issue, with this award. Team. You all need each other. In consulting, the whole truly is greater than the sum of its parts. That's a very human trait, after all.

Which brings me our other topic—Artificial Intelligence (or the much cooler sounding AI.) Two features in this issue focus on the fascinating topic of AI. One is a Short Takes Q&A with Sapient Government Services' Teresa Bozzelli about AI's impact on the Public Sector. The other is a compelling conversation with three Cognizant authors about their new book, What To Do When Machines Do Everything. Well, do everything but win a Top 25 Consultants award, that is.
