Andrew M. Smith's 24-year career has been completely dedicated to the healthcare information technology industry. His extensive experience working with academic hospitals, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), community hospitals and physician group practices enables him to serve as a strategic advisor to many of the industry's leading executives.
So, it's no surprise then, that Smith has seen his share of rapid, disruptive and evolutionary change, particularly with his technology and healthcare focus.
When I think about the work I do, "the pace of change really stands out," Smith says. "We never have a dull day, the problems get more complex and the landscape is always shifting."
In that type of environment, success often proves more elusive. That hasn't been the case for Smith or Impact Advisors. In fact, the firm has had several years of continuous growth under Smith's leadership.

Smith has in-depth knowledge of and experience in implementing and optimizing clinical systems with a focus on physician-centric applications, including computerized physician order entry and clinical documentation.
He also has worked on benchmarking efforts with several leading IDNs and community hospitals and has helped them prepare for HITECH's Meaningful Use and Health Information Exchange (HIE) requirements.
But more than all the technical credentials Smith brings to the table, his success and passion are rooted in much simpler, down-to-earth reasons—clients.
"I love the interaction with our clients and our associates," Smith says "I feel truly blessed that I get to work with highly motivated, smart, hardworking and innovative people on a daily basis."
As far as winning the Top 25 award, Smith says it's truly an honor to be recognized.
"I am very humbled that my team submitted me for the award and equally humbled to be considered amongst the Top 25 consultants," he says.
"I believe it is a validation of the core principles of our firm and any of my personal success is absolutely attributable to all of those people I am lucky to have at my side!"
