A.T. Kearney Aurik14. A.T. Kearney

It's a six pack for A.T. Kearney, as in, six years in a row on the Best Firms to Work For list. The Chicago based strategy firm settles in the same position this year as last, but that doesn't mean that everything has remained status quo at the firm. In January of this year, Johan Aurik took over as Managing Partner and Chairman of the Board pretty much where Paul Laudicina left off.

Aurik talks about the transition in terms of both his and Laudicina's leadership, which is when the firm's current run as one of the Best Firms to Work For began.

"This our sixth consecutive appearance on the Best Firms list and it really matches our trajectory since we became a partner-owned firm again in 2006," Aurik says. "We rebuilt our confidence and rediscovered what makes us so special and distinctive.

Best Firms to Work For recognition is a reflection of the pride all A.T. Kearney people have in the firm, both in our legacy and our future."

Aurik says A.T. Kearney is increasingly "the place to be" and the firm has momentum. "Our people are truly energized and both aligned and committed to helping us become the most admired global consulting firm. More and more highly talented people from our competitors are expressing interest in what is happening at A.T. Kearney. We are a healthy, profitable firm and have grown by nearly one-third since 2006."

Aurik says the firm has set its sights on a clear three-part vision: 1) to be the most admired global consulting firm; 2) to be the first choice in providing immediate impact and growing advantage for clients; and, 3) to double in size by 2020.

"We're unified behind this vision and moving aggressively to achieve it," he says. By 2020 we want to be "the most admired global full-service management consulting firm, distinguished by our culture and how we work," he says. "We want to double in size by 2020, and we firmly believe we have the legacy and distinctive culture to attract the talent to enable us to do that. That is our top priority."

A.T. Kearney Information Aurik says one of the differentiators for A.T. Kearney, is that the firm gives its consultants a lot of responsibility quickly and the opportunity to interact with clients early on in their careers. And it must be working. A.T. Kearney scored highest in the area of client engagement on this year's survey.

"Client engagement is an especially gratifying category to score well in this year, and it really demonstrates the commitment we have across our organization to the concept of co-creation: our ability to leverage our collaborative and authentic style to develop new and innovative ways to work 'with' our clients, not 'for' our clients."

WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE REMAINSIDER OF THIS YEAR AND 2014, WHAT EXCITES YOU MOST?
Johan Aurik, Managing Partner and Chairman of the Board, says: "We believe that the potential of our industry and of our firm is boundless. We are in a great place and focused on growth. We offer a distinctive value proposition to our clients and our people. Our firm financial footing and strong partner alignment put us in a good position to attract the talent we need to reach our growth objectives and achieve our vision of being the most admired full-service global management consulting firm. There is a sense of vitality and enthusiasm across our firm that continues to grow. We are on a great path."
