15) Infinitive
Denis McFarlane founded Infinitive in 2003 with a vision to grow a different type of consulting firm, one that is triangularly focused on the employee, on Infinitive, and on the client.
And, to do this in a way that is successful and empowering for all involved, he says. Given the fact that Infinitive is one of the few firms that has been on our Best Small Firms to Work For list all five years the list has been around, one could safely assume that he's succeeded.
"Being a Best Small Firm to Work For reaffirms this vision and makes me proud of what we, collectively, continue to build at Infinitive," McFarlane says. "Achieving this accolade each year has become a company-wide goal. "Best Firms is now a cultural reference, reinforced by our executive team through employee meetings and "morale" checks. Together, we ensure that Infinitive continues to be a Best Small Firm to Work For and a fun, challenging second home for our 'Infinitivians.' "
McFarlane says the firm prides itself on being employee-focused and stresses honesty, open communication, and transparency. "We promote these concepts between leadership and Infinitivians through every interaction whether a company meeting or whether it's simply at a one-on-one lunch."
To that end, McFarlane says Infinitive recently formalized the firm's company values and began to fully embrace them through continuous communication and internal branding efforts, McFarlane says. "The first core value we defined was simple but powerful: Be Great," he says. "We added six more to really challenge our team—Entrepreneur, Leadership, Fun, Flexible, Trust, and Kick Ass Attitude."
McFarlane says it's been "awesome" to see the Infinitive team really embrace and be motivated by those values in the work they do for both Infinitive and the clients.
"We have also seen a direct effect on morale, formalizing and consistently demonstrating these core values have further strengthened our sense of team and common vision," McFarlane says.
Meanwhile, he says the main goal over the next 12 months is to continue the firm's "Quest for Greatness" with continued perseverance and focus.
"It's great to be recognized as a Best Small Firm to Work For, but we wouldn't be in business without great clients that believe in our ability to help them," he says.
"We love helping our clients overcome all these new challenges. And, there are always new challenges for them."
