In the IT consulting space, pricing pressure is nothing new. But an online coupon for half-off consulting services is certainly a new twist. Analytic and cloud-computing firm Ajilitee recently offered half-off two different $25,000 projects through Groupon.
It appears to be a first for both Groupon and the consulting profession. The promotion has now expired and it netted no new customers—though the value of the publicity is harder to quantify. Whether Ajilitee has tapped a new potential sales channel is also yet to be determined.
