The Boston Consulting Group jumped six spots to No. 2 on Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" this year, and the firm earned first-place honors among smaller companies for the fourth time.
The results are due to an emphasis on employee development, a collaborative culture, extensive training, high-impact client work, progressive benefits, and a commitment to social-responsibility initiatives contributed to the strong performance, Fortune says.
"We are thrilled to be ranked so high on Fortune's Best Companies list," said Rich Lesser, BCG's chairman of North and South America. "The fact that we've stayed in the top dozen for six years in a row is a testament to our continued focus on making BCG a great place to work. Attracting top talent and maintaining an environment in which they rapidly develop have been key to our success and our ability to deliver enormous value to clients."
The Big 4 were all represented with Deloitte at No. 63, PwC at No. 73, Ernst & Young at No. 77 and KPMG at 86. Booz Allen Hamilton finished No. 85, while Accenture came in at No. 99.
Software giant SAS was, once again, the top-ranked company on the list.
