Senior Director
Accenture Public Service Nonprofit Group

Coming out of school, Elaine Turville says she wanted to work in a field focused on clients, where she could learn new skills and focus on new challenges. She also was seeking to work in an environment where change was constant. It's no wonder she ended up a consultant.

Today, Turville is the Senior Director of Accenture's Public Service Nonprofit Group, based out of Washington, D.C. "My favorite part of my job is working with clients on really tough problems," she says. "I really enjoy working with a small group of clients, and digging into the issues and options, using the white board, and helping to drive interactive discussions among teams, sorting out the issues and systematically eliminating road blocks until we all have a clear idea of what is needed to move forward."

Turville's been focused on bringing technology solutions to public service agencies ever since she joined the firm 15 years ago. "My greatest professional achievement is being part of the very small team that started Accenture's Nonprofit consulting practice," she says.

"A few of us had a dream about helping nonprofits tackle the same technology issues we help our government clients to resolve. We put together the business case, found some amazing internal support within Accenture, and started supporting our first clients. Three years later, we have a healthy practice with some amazing clients who are focused on some of society's largest problems," Turville says.
