Father and son authors Richard and Jon Metzler show readers commonalities between successful consultants and wizards in their book The Wisdom of Wizards: Insights from Leading Consultants . Like a "wizard," a good consultant takes his or her accumulated knowledge and experience and passes it on to the next generation.

The book allows the reader to become an apprentice to not just one, but more than 35 senior management consultants. Richard Metzler says that this is not just another insider book on consulting that promises to tell all. Instead, the authors allow the featured consultants to reminisce about their careers and let their wisdom and experience do the talking.
