Rabobank is an $11.5 billion Dutch-based financial services provider that operates on cooperative principles that were founded in the Netherlands nearly 110 years ago. When it needed to make aspects of its IT department more transparent, it turned to PA Consulting Group, a multi-service firm specializes in effective IT. PA delivered more than $10 million is cost savings by implementing "transparent IT."
The Challenge: Rabobank Group, a financial services company serving more than nine million private and corporate customers, needed to improve its IT department in the face of increased scrutiny from its internal customers and senior stakeholders. The department needed to make its performance and cost of services more transparent, so Rabobank asked PA Consulting to undertake an analysis and devise a practical improvement plan, including a set of measures to help the IT department quantify and demonstrate better performance and perception within the business.
The Solution: PA Consulting developed a set of tools for the IT department to analyze the service breakdown and improve coordination internally. The tools consisted of a refined service framework, up-to-date service administration, and a new way of service reporting to provide the required transparency.
The Result: Within four months of the project going live, Rabobank had identified more than $10 million in cost savings, as well as noticeably improved transparency and increased satisfaction with the IT department.
