Reacting to the rapid growth of the energy efficiency industry, IBM has launched a consulting service aimed at helping government agencies reduce their carbon footprints and save money in the process.
The IBM Public Sector Energy and Environment Diagnostic will focus on an array of energy efficiency areas, such as water management, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy use. IBM spokesman Eric Riddleberger says that "citizens everywhere are demanding that governments improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact, and public officials at every level are responding by raising standards for how they operate."
