Nancy Killefer, a senior director with McKinsey & Company, withdrew her nomination to become chief performance officer in President Obama's administration, a White House spokesman said.
According to published reports, White House officials said the reason for the withdrawal was unspecified tax issues. Killefer was nominated last month as Obama pledged to cut unnecessary spending and bring fiscal order and reform government to Washington.
Killefer previously served as assistant secretary for management and chief financial officer of the Treasury Department during the Clinton administration.
