CGI Federal and George Mason University have announced the launch of the Initiative for Collaborative Government (ICG). Its mission is to analyze models of collaboration between government and the private and nonprofit sectors, and subsequently learn how the government can best leverage these models to maximize mission results. The ICG is located online at www.collaborative.org.

The ICG already has commissioned four research projects to be completed this year, including papers on "Developing Jobs for Americans Through 'Onshoring'"; "Applying Collaborative Government Strategies to Maximize Mission Impact" and "Building Partnerships in Professional Services."

The ICG also will play host to a series of events this year centered on the theme of "Collaboration: An Effective Tool for Government Executives." These events will provide public sector, private sector and nonprofit leaders a forum for discussing mission challenges and potential collaborative government solutions, according to CGI Federal.

CGI Federal is a U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group. This division of the parent IT consultancy specializes in solutions for the federal government.
