(March 31, 2008) – India – India-based IT consultancy Tata has signed a a five-year, multi-million dollar contract to be the global engineering partner of ArvinMeritor, a global supplier of integrated systems, modules and components to the motor vehicle industry. According to TCS, the consultancy will support the localization and globalization efforts of ArvinMeritor's engineering capabilities, including product development and support for specific product lines in the Asia Pacific region. TCS plans to set up a global engineering center in Pune, India, to support ArvinMeritor's Asian market efforts.
According to TCS, the automotive industry is a key manufacturing market for the consultancy, and currently have Ferrari and Chrysler on the client roster.
