Rudy Puryear and David Emerson, two Bain executives, have recently been promoted to practice heads. Puryear, who was not only the head of Bain's information technology practice in the Americas, but the author of Sourcing Strategy and a co-author of Strategic Sourcing, has been named head of the global information technology practice at the Boston-based firm. Puryear, according to the firm, has more than 25 years of experience in helping organizations realize the full potential of technology investments.
Emerson, who specializes in growth strategy expert and airline industry turnaround, has been appointed head of the firm's global airline industry consulting practice. In this role, according to the firm, Emerson will oversee the development and delivery of Bain's worldwide airline business consulting services; his experience includes leading more than 50 worldwide projects for Bain's clients in the airline industry.
