Xcelicor's 98-person staff will enhance Deloitte's ability to provide Oracle human capital technology-related consulting services, according to the New York-based firm.
"This transaction advances our total HR consultancy capabilities and further cements our position in the marketplace," said Mike Fucci, principal and national managing director of Deloitte Consulting's human capital service area.
In 2008, Oracle is scheduled to release Oracle Fusion Applications, a single applications product line that is designed to combine the best functionality from all of the vendor's current product lines, according to Deloitte, and adding Xcelicor to its portfolio will help the firm meet these changing and growing demands.
"The choice to integrate Xcelicor and Deloitte Consulting came after many months of exploration and deep discussions," said Mark Silverstein, Xcelicor CEO. "True to the culture of both firms, the discussions started with each firm's approach to client service and talent management and continued on to a mutual vision of leading the broad market for Oracle HCM consulting services."
The acquisition is slated for completion in the coming weeks.
