Seattle-based Point B, which was named one of Consulting magazine's Best Firms to Work For in 2006, has a unique business model that enables its consultant to work in the communities they serve, thus greatly reducing their time on the road.
Because Point B associates work locally rather than fly from city to city, they become part of the community and develop a deeper commitment to their clients and the markets they serve, according to Jon Fleming, chief markets officer for Point B.
"We believe in making local business communities stronger by helping organizations solve their business problems, being a great employer and developing deep roots in the community," Fleming said. "Because our associates live where they work, they gain a perspective that typical management consultants lack. We believe that maintaining a local presence and building those local ties allows us to better serve our clients."
Janice Anderson opened the Chicago practice after serving Point B in Seattle for nine years. Patrick McCauley runs the Los Angeles office. He worked in Point B's Denver office for the last three years.
