Deloitte & Touche USA LLP launched an external blog to explore the issues and personal experiences women and men face in pursuit of career advancement and work/life balance. Hosted by Cathy Benko, Principal and High Technology Sector Leader for Deloitte Consulting LLP and National Managing Director of Deloitte's Women's Initiative, the blog provides a forum for candid discussions that aim to help professionals enhance their careers and find ways to make flexibility and choice a staple of the workplace. The blog went live January 19, 2007 for the general public after 18 months as a popular internal virtual meeting place for Deloitte colleagues. In past entries Benko and guest contributors discussed such topics as career customization, gender bias, the power of networking, creating a personal brand, as well as the lessons of everyday life in entries titled "The Other Side of the Kitchen Table," "Sick Day," "Too Stupid" and "Time Warp." The blog was developed by Deloitte's Initiative for the Retention and Advancement of Women (WIN), launched in 1993 to create an environment where high-performing women could build satisfying, sustainable careers.
