The New York office of Protiviti Inc., an internal audit and risk consulting firm, has added George L. Brown as a managing director in its business risk practice. In his new role with Protiviti, Brown will lead the firm's activities with private equity clients, focusing on delivering Protiviti's industry knowledge and business risk consulting capabilities to private equity companies and the businesses in which they invest. Brown will work with Protiviti's private equity clients to manage risk at each step of the investment process, from due diligence and pre-investment to post-investment and exit. Brown brings 25 years of finance and private equity consulting experience to Protiviti. Prior to joining the firm, he was president of Covanta Power International Holdings (CPIH), where he was responsible for restructuring the company and leading the operating, management, financial, and investment performance of CPIH and its 12 principal operating and equity investments. Prior to CPIH, Brown co-founded Global Infrastructure Company, an energy development and consulting firm, where he was partner and senior vice president. Brown has also held senior positions at Ogden Energy Group and J.P. Morgan & Co. in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group.
