Huron Consulting Group announced that Mark A. DeWyngaert, Gary T. Long, and Paul J. Silver will join the Company as managing directors. Dr. DeWyngaert, managing director in Huron's Pharmaceuticals and Health Plans practice, specializes in assisting pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology, and medical device companies identify and mitigate regulatory
risks and value intellectual property. He trained as a molecular biologist and has been actively involved with industry in both research and business development roles for the past 25 years. DeWyngaert has provided operational, clinical, managerial, consulting, and litigation services to various segments of the healthcare industry. He is a frequent speaker on the management of regulatory risks associated with promotional, education, research and clinical development activities; as well as, in valuation practices and intellectual property matters. He comes to Huron from Ernst & Young LLP's Health Sciences Group. DeWyngaert received his PhD, MA, and BA from the University of Rochester and his MBA from New York University. He will be based in Huron's New York office. Long, managing director in Huron's Performance Improvement practice, has extensive experience in the planning, development, execution, and management of supply chain and performance improvement solutions with major
corporations both domestically and internationally. He works with clients to optimize performance and profitability by coordinating and leveraging organizational resources. Long joins Huron from Accenture, Inc., where he was a partner in the Global Supply Chain practice. He has also held senior roles at A.T. Kearney, Inc. Long received his MBA from the University of New Haven and his BS from Fairfield University. He will be based in Huron's New York office. Silver, managing director in Huron's Pharmaceuticals and Health Plans practice, specializes in healthcare compliance and regulatory matters in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and pharmacy industries. With more than 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, he brings a unique perspective on the issues and challenges these organizations face to meet both compliance and business objectives. Silver comes to Huron from Ernst &
Young LLP where he was a director and senior member of the Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services practice. He was also member of their Global Pharmaceutical Industry leadership team. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Silver held various operations and sales and marketing roles at two multi-national pharmaceutical manufacturers. He is also a nationally recognized speaker in the area of pharmaceutical compliance. Silver received his BS in Business Finance and Communications from the University of Alabama. He will be based in Atlanta.
