Abt Associates has acquired the International Group consulting practice of IBM's Business Consulting Services' Public Sector unit. The International Group practice comprises the contracts and staff delivering consulting services for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The practice provides consulting services in the area of international economic development including privatization, capital market formation, trade, finance, and tax reform. The work supports USAID efforts to enhance economic growth and democratic institutions in developing countries. The practice was formerly part of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwCC) acquired by IBM in 2002.
