(Feb. 29, 2006) – New York — Andrew Dresner has joined Mercer Oliver Wyman as a Director in its New York office. Dresner will be a key member of both the Retail & Business Banking and Strategic IT Practices. He brings particular depth in Payments, Retail Operations, and Technology issues as applied to retail banking. Dresner has over 20 years of experience as a consultant to the financial
services industry, most recently having held the position as head of the
technology strategy practice for First Manhattan Consulting Group. He
has focused on technology strategy for financial institutions, business
strategy for technology vendors, and technology alliances/outsourcing.
Clients he has served include banks, securities firms, insurance
companies and technology vendors to the industry. A major focus throughout his career has been on payments issues including item processing, credit and debit card processing, and electronic bill payment. He has recently led several strategic studies for payments vendors serving the check, credit card, debit card, and stored value markets. Prior to joining The First Manhattan Consulting Group in 1991, Andrew worked with the financial industries consulting groups at the MAC Group, Ernst & Young/McLean Group, and Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. Andrew has a B.A. in Economics and Computer Science from Georgetown University.
