(Feb. 15, 2006) – Chicago – A group of 25 Arthur Andersen partners and staff have launched yet another consultancy called True Partners
Consulting LLC. The firm will be headed by Cary D. McMillan, who has served as managing partner of Arthur Andersen's largest office and more recently, chief financial officer of Sara Lee Corporation. True Partners will provide both tax and business advisory services and
help public companies and private enterprises navigate the numerous
federal and state tax laws and increasingly complex financial
regulations. By the end of the year, the firm anticipates having 150 employees strategically located in offices around the country, McMillan said in a statement. In addition to the capital provided by its managing directors, True
Partners has secured $20 million in funding from a Chicago-based private equity firm, Waud Capital Partners, LLC. The firm also received $900,000 in support from Gov. Rod Blagojevich's comprehensive economic development program, Opportunity Returns. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is administering the investment package, which includes Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) corporate
income tax credits over the next 10 years. Read the Jan/Feb 2006 issue of Consulting Magazine for the article, The Flights of the Phoenixes, which discusses several other firms created by former Andersen partners.
