More than 12 months after the Nasdaq took a tumble and six months after the technology sector began a downward trajectory, Adrian Slywotzky is out hunting again. Somewhere in the commercial world's vast industrial complex is an insight or concept that can help corporations unlock their deep industry sector knowledge. It's knowledge that if properly leveraged could potentially revive the New Economy's brash swagger, but Slywotzky first has to find it. To date, he has little doubt such knowledge already resides within a number of the business world's largest corporations.
"These are companies that are changing the fundamental way they do business, and they will enjoy all of the rewards that come with such a shift," says Slywotzky. Asked to be more specific, he confides: "If moving to a digital business model can get you ten points of profit differential against your best competitors, that can translate into something very meaningful."
