Deloitte is making a major move in New York City's office market, committing to lease nearly three-quarters of a planned skyscraper at Hudson Yards in what industry observers are calling a significant signal of renewed strength for high-end office space. The firm will relocate its North American headquarters from Rockefeller Center to 70 Hudson Yards, occupying 800,000 square feet of the 1.1 million-square-foot tower, according to people familiar with the agreement, first reported in an exclusive by The Wall Street Journal.

The deal between Deloitte and developer Related Companies was reached before construction began on the new tower, which is scheduled to break ground in June. Once completed, the building will stand as the largest ground-up office development to start in the United States since the onset of the pandemic. The project will also become New York City’s first zero-carbon-emission skyscraper.
