In the wake of 20-plus months of pandemic disruption, we have yet another consideration for maintaining successful business operations—"Is your firm ready to compete in the coming battle to recruit, secure and retain the human capital your company requires?"

Bain & Company, in collaboration with Dynata, released a report earlier this month foretelling radical change in the relationship between workers and their employers. The report, The Working Future, highlights five key themes that are reshaping the future of work and the steps firms need to take to get ahead in the shifting war for talent.

The research included 20,000 workers and more than 100 in-depth interviews in the United States, China, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, India, Indonesia, Nigeria and Brazil—representing around 65% of global GDP and offering a broad perspective from different cultures around the world.
