Lynne Sterrett Deloitte Consulting

Excellence in Client Service

Lynne Sterrett loves seeing results. “I love watching my clients grow and solve complex business issues,” she says. “I respect the client relationships I have formed through the years and see it as a privilege to be their trusted advisor.”

Even with more than 20 years experience as a consultant, Sterrett is a Principal in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Strategy & Operations practice specializing in the Life Sciences & Healthcare industry, she says consulting is always fresh and new. “I love the challenge of meeting new clients, sharing my experiences, and rolling up our sleeves together to do bold things,” Sterrett says. “I also enjoy watching the next generation of business leaders emerging and playing a role in their growth and development.”

Sterrett’s background as a clinician—she is also a registered nurse—gives her a unique perspective in working alongside healthcare provider and health plan clients. By marrying disruptive technologies with digital aspirations, she helps clients create ideal customer experiences. She is known for instilling the courage in her clients to be bold: “Meet them where they are. Technology doesn’t realize aspirations; vision does.”

She has been pivotal in helping more than 20 health organizations pioneer the use of electronic health records for quality and safety. She built Deloitte Consulting LLP’s clinical systems practice and currently leads its 650-strong services operations team.

“Right now, as our clients’ needs are shifting dramatically, I’m really proud to be part of an organization at the forefront of making bold, innovative moves, particularly around disruptive technologies,” Sterrett says. “Helping clients navigate the emerging technologies that are fundamentally changing their core business processes is meaningful, impactful work.”

Sterrett is also a leader in Deloitte’s Women’s Initiative, and is committed to growing and developing the next generation of leaders. “Challenging yourself to take risks and grow as a leader—‘flexing new muscles’—so often leads to the capstone events in your career,” she says. “I think I’m most proud of being willing to take those risks, because those opportunities have led me to find my strength for seeing an idea and bringing it to execution. Whether starting a new consulting practice or creating women-focused leadership programs for our clients, I love building and creating new things.”

Having been in consulting for over 20 years, Sterrett says it is both humbling and motivating to be honored with a Top 25 award alongside such tremendous talent.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the inspiration my clients give me every day to do my best work, and for Deloitte’s sponsorship and support of my continued growth and development,” she says. “I hope this award reflects the commitment of our exceptional organization to its people.”

Q&A: What’s been the biggest factor to your success?

Sterrett: “For me, it all starts with a supportive family who enables me to do what I love. My parents instilled a strong work ethic and also taught me to bring a good dose of humility to all situations. Professionally, I’ve had some incredibly strong mentors guiding me along the way, sponsoring me with an investment in my success, and giving me great opportunities to challenge and stretch my capabilities so I’m always prepared for the next set of responsibilities.”
