West Monroe Partners Excellence in Energy Age: 34

Danny Freeman, Director, Energy & Utilities, is an expert in grid modernization implementations and is currently leading large teams at two of the biggest electric utilities in the country on their multi-billion dollar transformational programs.

I am very excited about the rapid changes taking place in the way in which energy is produced, delivered, and consumed, Freeman says. “This environment requires a great deal of innovation and new ways of thinking. It is exciting to work through these challenges and opportunities every day.”

Freeman says he is particularly proud of what he and his team have built together in the firm’s Energy and Utilities Practice and overall at West Monroe Partners. “I have had the fortune of helping grow our Energy and Utilities practice from the ground up, from two consultants when we started the practice in 2008 to more than 55 today who are delivering value to some of the largest utilities in North America and internationally,” Freeman says.

“When I reflect on where we were when I joined West Monroe and where we are today, I am extremely grateful to have had the chance to grow along with an organization that has stayed true to our core values and our focus on being People First.”

In 2016, Danny received a Sequoia Award, an internal honor created to recognize those mentors who have had a profound impact on career development.  To earn a Sequoia Award, individuals must be nominated by those whom they mentor and selected by Senior Leadership.

“The exposure I have had to exceptional leaders, both at West Monroe and at our clients, has had a major influence on me,” Freeman says. “They have been great models of leadership, dedication, and trust, and I would not be where I am today without them.”
