IBM Global Business Services Excellence in Leadership Age: 29
Arsalan Suhail, Management Consultant, Digital Strategy at IBM Global Business Services, has over seven years of experience advising public and private sector institutions in 11 countries across Europe, Latin America, Middle East, South Asia, and APAC, including Afghanistan. In Afghanistan he had an opportunity to build a business incubator and provide investment facilitation services to Afghan companies, helping build the local economy at the grassroots level.
This ability to have this type of impact is exhilarating, for sure, but Suhail says he is also excited about “working with supremely talented colleagues every day, at a firm that has been restlessly reinventing itself to be the world’s most essential company for 105 years.
More broadly, I like having the opportunity to solve the world’s most impactful organizations’ most pressing problems and having the ability to drive tangible outcomes. At the end of the day, my client’s success is my success.”
And when Suhail’s involved, there’s plenty of client success. That’s one of the reasons he was has selected to participate in IBM’s prestigious Global Leadership Development and Cultural Immersion Program for emerging leaders—only 400 of the 400,000 IBM employees are selected.
Suhail’s also the lead recruiter for top undergrad and MBA programs for the firm’s Strategy Consulting Division and has mentored over 20 consultants thus far in his career. “I have a vested interest in young consultants’ career by realizing that I was once in their shoes and I remember how much I benefited from excellent mentorship,” Suhail says.
As far as the Rising Stars award, he says he is extremely humbled and honored to be a part of such an esteemed group of individuals. “I am fortunate to be surrounded by the best at IBM, and it’s gratifying that I have the support of so many talented peers, clients, and inspiring leaders.”
