Point B Chuck Ritter / President of Consulting
Consulting: Can you sum up where your firm is today?
Ritter: I was thrilled with the year we had serving clients, creating opportunity for our people and building a more diverse set of offerings across our business units. 2016 was Point B’s best year to-date. We grew at near 15 percent in profitability. We recruited a record number of associates who bring the best to our clients, as well as complement and extend Point B’s unique culture. We expanded our national footprint to Boston and Austin, Texas. Our Property Development and Venture Investment business units realized meaningful strides, and we helped our consulting clients innovate, meet regulatory requirements, navigate rapid change, care for their people and grow their top and bottom lines in extraordinary ways.
Consulting: What’s your firm’s outlook for 2017?
Ritter: Point B is poised for significant growth across our entire business in 2017. We find ourselves in a unique position to be a strong force as our clients and people balance the excitement of many marketplace opportunities with the unease of a healthy, but seemingly tenuous, economy. The combined forces of our Property Development, Venture Investment and Consulting business units, along with our continued market expansion efforts, give our people opportunities to work with very exciting clients. We expect our business intelligence and analytics, process improvement, and managed services offerings to grow most significantly in 2017. We’ll continue to guide clients in healthcare, financial services and provide leadership expertise in large, transformational change programs.
Consulting: What are the biggest opportunities in 2017? What are the biggest challenges?
Ritter: We have big growth plans for our firm and people in 2017, which certainly creates its own opportunities and challenges. What makes Point B a great place to work and work with continues to be our shared knowledge, relationships and passion for doing the right thing. Extending this altruistic thread to an even greater network of clients and people is the greatest opportunity we can bring to bear in the New Year. Meaningful growth also begs the question how to best bring repeatable, scalable models that our people and clients can understand and leverage to the forefront. It’s a good challenge to have, and we look forward to integrating new methods of growth into the foundation of what’s made us the firm we are today.
