The healthcare industry, after the stunning election results, is reeling about what comes next since investing hundreds of millions of dollars over the last six years in the move toward ACA-driven value-based care. Payers, providers and new market entrants will rely on consulting firms as never before to guide them through this unprecedented territory with consulting demand rising.
Much is being said about the future of Obamacare under a Trump Administration. As of this writing, President-elect Trump has stated in a Wall Street Journal interview (11/11/16) that "Either Obamacare will be amended, or repealed and replaced," but that he will leave two key provisions in tact: guaranteeing coverage for those with pre-existing conditions; and providing coverage to young adults on their parents' insurance until the age of 26.
