Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm’s exceptional growth?
Smith: More than ever, winners and losers are chosen based on the enterprise’s ability to create design-centered technology experiences for customers and employees. Maven Wave is uniquely positioned to serve this $460 billion market. We help the world’s leading companies make the shift to digital and shorten the fuse to innovation. We’re selling hot cakes at breakfast time, pass the butter!
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Smith: We’re proud to say that 2016, is another record year for Maven Wave. Record revenue and growth; new solutions, like our new Reveal video platform, brought to market with early sales success in Fortune 500 companies; and a new expansion of our relationship with Google in the rapidly growing area of location-based services. We’re proud to see those investments paying off and the market moving in our direction.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm’s outlook for 2017? Where do you see the most opportunities?
Smith: It’s only the beginning of the beginning for the digitalization of the enterprise. We expect top-line growth to accelerate as our clients make the shift to digital. We’re projecting another record year for revenue and increasing the importance of our relationships with name brand clients who are making a digital transformation. As technology continues to dissolve into every nook and cranny of our lives, we see a bright, long, and prosperous future for Maven Wave, our clients, and employees.
Consulting: What would you say are your firm’s biggest challenges in 2017?
Smith: Growth is hard. If it was easy, everyone would do it. Keeping an innovative, agile culture while growing the team is a challenge everyday. Innovation cannot be ordered with a bullhorn. People need the freedom to solve problems free from useless obstacles and yet growth requires process and structure. The balance of these contrary forces is the basis of company culture. Company culture is a group dynamic that has to be managed with every hire. The more you grow, the more important it becomes.
Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting’s Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?
Smith: We spend most of our waking hours thinking about the challenges our clients face. But every once in awhile it’s great to pause, just for a moment, to reflect on our body of work. We could not be more thrilled to be recognized for the second year in a row as one of Consulting magazine’s Fastest Growing Firms and we appreciate the moment this occasion provides for us to thank our employees and clients that make it all possible.
