Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm’s exceptional growth?
Daugherty: One primary factor that contributed to our growth is our culture of delivery excellence and the superior people we have on our team. We’re continuing to invest in thought leadership, hiring only the best of the best in key areas such as analytics and agile transformation. We are trusted advisors to some of the most successful businesses in the world, and much of our success is due to repeat and referral business.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Daugherty: 2016 is shaping up quite nicely for us. We’re continuing to improve our leadership bandwidth, promoting from within, and investing heavily in key areas of thought leadership. This is especially true of our capabilities in Big Data and PMO as well as our Enterprise Information Management and Agile Centers of Excellence. This has really paid off, and we are doing innovative work for our clients in many different industries like CPG, retail, healthcare and financial services to name a few.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm’s outlook for 2017? Where do you see the most opportunities?
Daugherty: 2017 could be our biggest year ever. We’re continuing to increase our leadership bandwidth, our sales organization is ramping up, and we’ve added even more to our ability to bring thought leadership to our clients. We’ve been excelling at this for the past 30 years, and we’re looking forward to increasing our stride to leverage new technology and innovation to drive even more business value in the coming year.
Consulting: What would you say are your firm’s biggest challenges in 2017?
Daugherty: Greatest challenges and greatest opportunities are one and the same. Our goal is to grow to a billion dollars in annual revenue over the next 9 years, which we are currently on track to achieve. 2017 will be a turning point for us to use the necessary processes and systems we’ve built to really drive forward in pursuit of this goal. Hitting our goals will occur when we are able to really institutionalize our tribal knowledge.
Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting’s Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?
Daugherty: While we aren’t in this business for the awards, it’s nice to have the terrific work of our people be recognized and a great way to measure our progress in a quantifiable manner. So, thank you to all my Daugherty teammates. Our hard work is making a positive impact on our clients, our employees, and our communities. I’m so proud of all of them and what we’ve built together.
