Ask Joseph Tarantino, President and CEO of Protiviti, what’s unique about the firm and he’ll talk about the fact that the firm has “built a collaborative, empowering, client-centric culture, and I believe that is what really sets us apart,” he says. “Since our beginning, we have maintained an environment that gives our employees open access to leadership. As we have grown, we have built trust through frequent and open communications with our people. They feel that when they speak, they are heard and can influence our firm in ways that matter most to them.”

They are, for sure, influencing the firm with their feedback and formalized responses on the Best Firms to Work For annual survey. That feedback has landed Protiviti a spot in the ranking three consecutive years.

“Being recognized as one of Consulting magazine’s Best Firms to Work For reinforces the pride that our people have for our organization,” Tarantino says. “A recognition such as this celebrates the distinctive culture and positive work environment that we have built together at Protiviti.”

In addition, Tarantino says he thinks Protiviti’s clients also value the recognition “because it reinforces that our teams working with them are engaged and committed to helping them identify and solve their critical business problems.”

Protiviti has a work environment that is second to none, Tarantino says. In addition, this focus on culture and high morale has a real bottom-line impact on the firm.

“Our morale is extremely high, which is helping us achieve the growth we are experiencing,” he says. “Our people excel at working together to make an impact on our clients, our organization, and the communities in which we live and work. We trust each other and provide an empowering environment to do the right things.”

Tarantino says his greatest priority is continuing to deliver exceptional service to clients by offering deep expertise, objective insights, a tailored approach and unparalleled collaboration to help them face the future with confidence. “To support our growth, we are making a number of investments in our infrastructure,” Tarantino says.

Looking ahead, he says he sees continued growth potential, innovation and further strengthening of the brand. “With emerging business trends such as digitization, we see a lot of opportunity to work with our clients to enable, empower and operationalize their digital strategies.”

Q&A: Were there any specific programs or initiatives that contributed to you being a Best Firm to Work For?

Tarantino: “Our people show a strong sense of belonging within Protiviti, and we thrive on opportunities that enable us to give back. Our ‘i on Hunger’ initiative, through which we have provided over 3 million meals for the hungry, rallies our global team around the fight to end hunger. Through our sabbatical program, our people have the opportunity and support to take time off to pursue their individual passions and interests. We strive to be connected to one another and support our people in work and life pursuits.”
