Excellence in Leadership
A former derivatives trader and business news anchor at CNBC, Anichya Shah came to consulting in an unusual way. “I have always taken calculated risks in my career, and they have worked out well for me because I have trusted my gut instincts,” he says. “I switched out of my first job in derivatives trading, and pivoted to a role in financial media, which seemed risky at the time.”
Yet this very risk landed Shah an unforgettable opportunity at the age of 23—the lead business news anchor on CNBC as the host of two daily live stock market shows.
He joined A.T. Kearney in 2012 and is currently a manager in the Private Equity and M&A practice. Shah was one of the first members of the firm’s revamped North America PE and M&A practice, which is a strategic growth area as part of A.T. Kearney’s Vision 2020 plan.
Since joining the firm, Shah has been integral to all aspects of the practice’s growth from successful project execution and pitches, account development, marketing, intellectual capital development and training. The impact has been staggering with 3x and 4x growth of the practice revenues over the past three years, making it the fastest growing practice at the firm.
“I am equally proud of the work I have done at A.T. Kearney,” Shah says. “I am proud to be a part of a firm that is making tremendous strides in the marketplace as part of its global initiative, Vision 2020, and to be a contributor to the fastest growing practices at the firm.”
Meanwhile, he says the Rising Stars award is a “validation of all the hard work and effort of every team I’ve ever worked with, and representative of the incredible mentorship I have received over the years.”
