Horizontal Integration is ranked No. 24 on the Fastest Growing Firms list with 138 percent growth. Staley sat down with Consulting to discuss the Horizontal Integration’s success.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to you exceptional growth rate?
Staley: First and foremost, quality. We are in the service business and our mantra is execute, execute, execute. Consistently high quality execution engenders trust. Clients who trust you do more business with you. And then they refer you to new clients. Second, integrity. While I wish I could say we’re flawless in everything we do, I’m just as proud to say that we are transparent with our clients and take swift action on the rare occasion when things don’t go exactly as planned.
Consulting: How is 2015 shaping up for your firm?
Staley: Once again we are set to exceed the aggressive growth target we set for ourselves.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm’s outlook for 2016? Where do you see the most opportunities?
Staley: Our strategic plan targets several forms of growth. We will be broadening our technology footprint, doubling down on our existing, successful relationships with channel partners and expanding our forays into certain geographic markets where we haven’t historically invested. We expect all of these tactics to contribute to aggressive top- and bottom-line growth.
Consulting: What do you see as the biggest challenges for your firm in 2016?
Staley: We call it a “high class problem,” but managing growth intelligently and successfully is still a problem that requires solving. How many small businesses fail in making the transition to becoming medium-sized or large enterprises? We want to continue our upward trajectory without losing the culture and qualities that have made us who we are, and that is a struggle faced by countless entrepreneurial organizations. The process has not been without its hiccups and we fully expect continued challenges as we move into the new year. But I can’t think of a problem I’d rather have.
Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting’s Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?
Staley: Who doesn’t like to be acknowledged for a job well done? Every time we receive an accolade like this it validates our approach to identifying a market need and finding smart ways to meet that need. We have built our business on the hard work and dedication of our employees and want them to feel the same sense of pride that we owners do, and we want our clients to feel good that they made the right decision to partner with us.
