4. Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group
Headquarters: Plano, Texas
Billable Consultants: 812
Client Industries: Financial Services
Consulting Service Lines: Strategy and Operations Management
It’s been quite a year for Carlisle & Gallagher. In June, the firm was acquired by NTT DATA, an IT services provider and global innovation partner with 76,000 professionals based in over 40 countries. The next 12 months will focus on the integration of CG into NTT’s Financial Services business line, says Steve Chapman, President of Carlisle & Gallagher.
As if that wasn’t enough, over the last year the firm nearly doubled its billable consultants, growing from 411 to 812. With all that’s been going on, it’s quite an accomplishment that CG remained at No. 4 in the Best Firms to Work For ranking in 2105.
“We consider this the ultimate recognition a professional services firm can receive. In a people industry like ours, attracting, growing and retaining top talent is the biggest challenge a firm faces,” Chapman says. “It’s an honor to be recognized for our ability to do it well and we proudly promote this award in our networking efforts, client relations, marketing and recruiting.”
Chapman says CG’s greatest strength is the caliber of its employees, hiring the best and giving them exceptional opportunities to grow. “Being named a Best Firm to Work For four years in a row has had a phenomenal impact. For our employees, it’s a real source of pride and a greatly appreciated recognition of all that they contribute to this company,” he says.
In addition, Chapman says CG has expanded the scope of its existing client relationships, strengthening its bonds across many levels of each organization and growing its footprint inside each account, and that “customer satisfaction remains extremely high,” he says.
It would seem that’s a very accurate assessment. On the survey, CG scored No. 1 in the Client Engagement category. Chapman says CG is a truly client-centric organization. Most of its consultants have spent their entire careers working at or consulting to financial services organizations. In many cases they come to the table having faced and conquered the very same problem that our client is trying to solve.
“This is so important to building trust and confidence with the client. Our instinctual desire to collaborate—with each other and with our clients—is another key factor in building deep client engagement. We want to integrate with, not disrupt, our clients’ culture and way of working,” We want to be in the trenches with our clients. This genuine mentality of being ‘in it together’ is a key success factor in all our client relationships.”
Chapman says the promise of its integration with NTT DATA makes him “all the more confident that the rest of 2015, as well as the year ahead, will produce great success for the firm and its clients.”
What’s unique about your firm? What sets it apart from the rest?

This approach—combined with our exclusive focus on the financial services industry—enables CG to provide clients with a truly unique consulting experience that engenders trust and drives success. The CG Experience is also what makes CG a uniquely rewarding place to work. It offers employees a high-growth, collaborative and expertise-rich environment that is focused on helping them achieve personal, professional and client success.”
